Sri Lankans stuff England by 9 runs at Twenty20 at The London Oval - 18th May 2014

The Sri Lankan cricketers proved that they are worthy World CupTwenty20 Champions by stuffing the British Lions in the one and only Twenty20 international by 9 runs. Sri Lankans who made a big 183 fo 7 after being sent in, did not allow any of the home team batsmen to cut loose and restricted them to 174 for 7 in 20.

The victory was made possible by a belligerent knock of 49 in 20 deliveries with 7 fours and two sixes by match and World Cup winner in Bangladesh left hander Thisara Perera.

When England chased they lost their first wicket that of Michael Carberry for 7 with the score on 9 caught at third man by Kulesekera off Mathews and from then on batsmen came and went with only Alex Hales making 66 from 41 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. (Report by Elmo)
