Old Sokians - United Kingdom (OS - UK) held 6th AGM at Hanchurch Village Hall at Stoke on Trent.

On 3rd December 2016, Old Sokians - United Kingdom held (OS - UK) 6th AGM at Hanchurch Village Hall at Stoke on Trent. Old Sokians - UK is a voluntary charitable association of the past pupils of Dharmasoka College, Ambalngoda Sri Lanka and presently living in the United Kingdom and EU.

6th AGM was organised by Executive Committee of OS-UK as a family reunion event followed by an authentic  Sri Lankan Food and Entertainment for all ages.

It was mainly aimed to brief 2016 achievements and milestones and next year plans/projects for the betterment of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda.

AGM was started with all Sokians singing the College Song together with 2 minutes silent dedicated for late teachers, Past Students and former patron Mr. Colvin de Silva. 

Proceedings started with welcoming families by OS - UK President Dr . Ruwan Fernando.

Subsequently, Secretary of the OS-UK  Dhammika Siripala presented the 2016 year activities in detail including charitable status, Name change, Website update, FOC  and  projects completed  along with next year activity plan. Also, elected two Executive Committee members and Patron post which were vacant.

Finally, AGM was concluded by Treasure of the OS-UK  Neomal Jinappriya by presenting the 2016 financial statement.

 Among the highlights of the AGM, Prabath Warusavithana's new appointment as Treasure of FOC 2017 was one of the Key accomplishment as an Individual and OS- UK and also all participated Sokians were generous enough to raise funds for a proposed project on the day itself which is quite remarkable.

There were other activities organised including a raffle draw, Entertainment for Kids and live Srilankan music performed by some talented singers of Old Sokians.  

It was indeed a fabulous family reunion diligently organised by Executive Committee of OS- UK at   the best.
