2012 New Year Blessings Ceremony - Athula Dassana International Buddhist Temple

Athula Dassana International Buddhist Temple organised a very special and unusual Buddhist ceremony to bestow Blessings to the Buddhist devotees for the New Year 2012. Over 350 devotees from far and near visited the temple on 1st January 2012 to participate in the hourly Pirith chanting and to receive the Blessings.

The program started before the dawn of 1st January 2012 devotees gathered to the temple in a extraordinary procession bringing in offerings for the KIRIPINDU BUDDHA PUJA, and participated in the NAVA ARHADHI BUDU GUNA PUJA and received the Blessings for the New Year.

From 6.00 am till 7.00pm every hour there was the Pirith chanting and distribution of ( Pirith pang) Blessed Water and (Pirith Noole) Blessed Thread to all the devotees who visited the temple.

At 7.00pm the Blessings program ended with the NAVA ARAHADHI BUDUGUNA PUJA chanted by Ven Wanduramba Kassapa Thero Head of the Athula Dassana International Buddhist Temple.
