22nd Commemoration Ceremony of November Heroes in the UK, by Peoples Liberation Front (JVP) UK Committee

In November the UK committee of Peoples Liberation Front organized, two commemoration ceremonies in London and Birmingham on order to commemorate the great leader and the creator of Peoples Liberation Front, our dearest comrade Rohana Wijeweera and all the other brave revolutionists who was brave enough to sacrifice their precious lives for sake of their motherland. These couple of ceremonies was held majestically on 26 November 2011 at Vale farm sports centre in London and on 27 at Ladywood arts and leisure centre in Birmingham. This time the UK committee, giving an opportunity to feel a new experience to patriotic srilankans, had added a commemoration exhibition which demonstrated the milestones of the party history and a book exhibition as new components apart of the commemoration speech. The party leader comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe participated to theses two occasions in two cities as the special guest and delivered the main commemoration speech.

On 26 November after the arrival of comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe, all the participants stood up and paid homage to the November heroic revolutionists by keeping red flowers in front of commemoration Plaque and observed one minute silence to commemorate the heroes.

The chair person of the ceremony, the organizer of UK committee comrade Darshana Hettiarachchi welcomed all the participants to the occasion and gave an introductory speech , briefly explaining the main purposes of the occasion and invited comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe to deliver the main speech.

The things that Comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe highlighted in his speech were mainly focused on the specific characteristics of our great leader comrade Rohana Wijeeweera and the core values of his followers and the party. Next, he explained the current political situation in srilanka and by giving the answers to the questions which were asked by the audience, he revealed the reality of the current situation in the party. After the speech, the audience diffused slowly towards the exhibition, searching for the history and the modern knowledge.

In the history of the of the UK committee for the first time in this November, they have organized a commemoration ceremony in Birmingham as well. In that ceremony the content and the structure were same as in London, but the significant feature, was the heavy feeling which was experienced by the Srilankans in Birmingham, on the solemnity of the occasion and the priceless sacrifice of the heroes of November for the first time.

At the end of these two occasions, remembering the venture which was undertaken by the Peoples Liberation Front and all the unforgettable, uncountable and unbelievable sacrifices which has done by its valuable members to protect the country and the party, all the participants promised to give maximum support for the party even they are far away from their dearest motherland.
