In November
the UK committee of Peoples Liberation Front organized, two
commemoration ceremonies in London and Birmingham on order
to commemorate the great leader and the creator of Peoples
Liberation Front, our dearest comrade Rohana Wijeweera and
all the other brave revolutionists who was brave enough to
sacrifice their precious lives for sake of their motherland.
These couple of ceremonies was held majestically on 26
November 2011 at Vale farm sports centre in London and on 27
at Ladywood arts and leisure centre in Birmingham. This time
the UK committee, giving an opportunity to feel a new
experience to patriotic srilankans, had added a
commemoration exhibition which demonstrated the milestones
of the party history and a book exhibition as new components
apart of the commemoration speech. The party leader
comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe participated to theses two
occasions in two cities as the special guest and delivered
the main commemoration speech.
On 26
November after the arrival of comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe,
all the participants stood up and paid homage to the
November heroic revolutionists by keeping red flowers in
front of commemoration Plaque and observed one minute
silence to commemorate the heroes.
The chair
person of the ceremony, the organizer of UK committee
comrade Darshana Hettiarachchi welcomed all the
participants to the occasion and gave an introductory speech
, briefly explaining the main purposes of the occasion and
invited comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe to deliver the main
speech.
The things that
Comrade Somawansa Amarasinghe highlighted in his speech were
mainly focused on the specific characteristics of our great
leader comrade Rohana Wijeeweera and the core values of his
followers and the party. Next, he explained the current
political situation in srilanka and by giving the answers to
the questions which were asked by the audience, he revealed
the reality of the current situation in the party. After the
speech, the audience diffused slowly towards the exhibition,
searching for the history and the modern knowledge.
In the history of the
of the UK committee for the first time in this November,
they have organized a commemoration ceremony in Birmingham
as well. In that ceremony the content and the structure were
same as in London, but the significant feature, was the
heavy feeling which was experienced by the Srilankans in
Birmingham, on the solemnity of the occasion and the
priceless sacrifice of the heroes of November for the first
time.
At the end of these
two occasions, remembering the venture which was undertaken
by the Peoples Liberation Front and all the unforgettable,
uncountable and unbelievable sacrifices which has done by
its valuable members to protect the country and the party,
all the participants promised to give maximum support for
the party even they are far away from their dearest
motherland. |
