As our Lord Buddha advised,
ordained Buddhist Bhikkhus should observe a Rains Retreat
four months of every year. This noble tradition was followed
at the Mahamevnawa International Meditation Centre located
in Basildon, Essex over the last few months.
A Dharma Programme was conducted
on the 5th of November 2011 to mark the end of
the Rains Retreat which consisted of preaching of Dharma,
practicing of meditation and chanting of Pirith in Pali and
Sinhalese throughout the night. Approximately 500 devotees
joined this great event and obtained a great deal of merits.
Various offerings were given to the Bhikkhus by devotees the
next morning which concluded the Dharma Programme.
May all the merits gained be
shared by everyone with joyful minds. |
