Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Research Library declared open in Sri Lanka - 14th July 2011

His Excellency President Mahinda Rajapakse officially declared open the Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Research Library at 7th Avenue, Colombage Mawatha , Colombo 5 on 14th July 2011 to commemorate the Sambuddhathva Jayanthiya of 2600 by presenting the Karanduwa to The most Venerable Galayaye Piyadassi , Chief Sangha Nayaka Thero of the UK and the head of Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Centre in Kingsbury, London United Kingdom.

Minister of water supply, Hon Dinesh Gunawardena planted the Bodhi Sapling to ceremonially consecrate the premises.

Most Venerable Bellanwila Wimalaratana Nayaka Thero, Ven. Akuretiye Nanda Sangha Nayaka Thero, The Vice Chancellor of the Buddhist and Pali University Most Ven. Itthamaliyadde Indasara Nayaka Thero, Most Ven. Muruthtethtuwe Ananda Nayaka Thero, Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero were among the Maha Sangha who participated . Ministers Hon. Fowzie and Hon Susil Premajayantha also graced this auspicious occasion .
