‘Bhesajjha Pooja’ during the vas season at Athula Dassana International Buddhist Temple (Heathrow Viharaya)

             A benedictory ‘Bhesajjha  Pooja’ Organised  by the dayaka  sabha was performed by Ven.Wanduramba kassapa Thero, the chief incumbent of the Athula Dassana International Buddhist temple (Heathrow Viharaya) on 27th August to bless the devotee with good health. The Bodhi pooja on that day was sponsored by Mr. Nimal Premasiri and Mrs. Malani Premasiri together with the member of their family.

              After the  Bodhi Pooja dried Medicinal herbs were boiled in a large vessel, while Ven.Kassapa Therochanted the Bojjhanga Sutta. The blessed concoction was then distributed among the devotees to be consumed these and there. Also holy water bottle already blessed with Bojjhanga sutta for 3 days were given to all the devotees. The Bojjhanga sutta had been chanted by The Buddha to head the illnesses of sick monks. The teaching of Buddha ‘Ãrogaya Paramã Lãbhã’ means health is the highest gain.Health is paramount to everyone to carry out their duties in day to day life and also to achieve the goals in their lives as well as in the attainment of spiritual objectives
