A New Buddhist Temple (Heathrow Viharaya) launched in west London

With the view to catering to the spiritual needs of the Buddhist devotees especially in and around west London area and generally to the devotees in the United Kingdom a new Buddhist temple was auspiciously launched at No. 153A Sutton Lane, Hounslow TW3 4JW on 7th July to commemorate the 2600 Sambuddha Jayanthiya with the patronage of Ven.Wanduramba Kassapa Thero. The temple is named Athula Dassana International Buddhist Temple as a branch of the Athula Dassana Temple Borella, Sri Lanka .The chief incumbent of which is Ven.Borella Athula Nayake Thero the tutor of Ven. Wanduramba Kassapa Thero.

Among the other objectives of the establishment of the temple are to show the correct path to the future generation to lead a correct life adhering to the five precepts and the children and the youth to be aware and proud of their origin and respecting the customs, tradition and culture of Sri Lanka.

Among those generously supported and contributed this noble venture by way of kind advice and financial contribution are Mr.&Mrs Jayarathene Bandara,Mr.&Mrs.Ranil Rupasingha, Mr.&Mrs.Godwin Karunarathne, Mr.&Mrs.Indika Gunawardena, Mr.&Mrs.Keerthi Senanayake, Mr.Buddhika Salwathura, Mr.&Mrs.Upendra Alwis, Mr.&Mrs.Dimuthu Jagodage and Mr.& Mrs Lahiru Athuraliya.
