East London Sri Lankan New Year Festival was held on 17th April 2011 at Plashet Girls School, Plashet Grove, East Ham. Cheaf Guests were Ven. Kaballewe
Sirisumana Thero, MP Steven Timms and HE. Acting High Commissioner P. M. Amza.

This was organised by ELSWA (East London Sinhala Welfare Association) for the 19th Year. Over 700 people attended and free traditional Food were provided all day long. Event Started in the morning 10am with Traditional outdoor games, and from 1.30pm Cultural and Stage performances including "Avurudu Koari and Kumaraya". Certificates were Presented for the 18 Children of the Sunday School which conducted by the Cultural Education Unit of ELSWA.

Guest Artists were Sirasa Super Star - Shanika Madumali, Kopi Kade "Banda" - Saman Gunawardana and SIGIRI - Sanjeeva Perera.
