New Year Celebrations by Janahanda Foundation in Hounslow, London - 9th April 2011

Sinhala Hindu Bak Maha Ulela (Srilanka New year Celebration Day) which was organised by Janahanda Foundation in Hounslow was held on 9^th Of April 2011 @ Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow, TW3 4DN . This celebration was attended by great many audience and many local and national dignitaries. The Acting Srilankan High Commissioner was the chief guest whilst, His worshipful Mayor of London Borough of Hounslow Councillor Colin Eller, Deputy Mayor of London Borough of Hounslow Madam Poonam Dillon, Councillor Jagdish Sharma, Labour leader of the Council, Councillor Gopal Dillon, Councillor Priman Grewal were among the guests who were gracing this magnificent occasion. Asiri Bandara Brought more colour to the event by compeering with Esanga Piris and Rajeewa

Many Artists living in London made this event more colourful and vibrant by contributing their talents. Amongst singers were Sanath Udugama, Cristoper Liyanage, Sunil Perera, Sunil Wimalaratne, Hemantha Kumara( London Jothi), Tilla Ranjan, Dimuthu Tilakaratne, Larishia Dias and Mr and Mrs Karunaratne. Music by Islanders.

Janahanda Foundation greatly appreciates and thank to all those who contributed their time and skills in order to make this function more magnificence and elegant. The beauty queen contest and Cultural Dance presented by Mrs Manoja Almeda, Mrs. Nirosha hettiarachchi, Mrs. Mihirani Marasinghe and Mrs Chandrika Perera.Mr. Pradeep Welikannage organised and presented all the out door games and bera wadanaya by Aruna Shantha
