The Sri Saddhatissa
International Buddhist Centre observed
the ESALA POYA with a full programme of
Religious Talks and Meditation, starting
with the observance of sil by 75
devotees early in the morning of Sunday
25th July.
In the evening the 7
incumbent monks led by Ven.. Galayaye
Piyadassi were invited to observe Vas by
the devotees. Mr Gunaratna Araliya and
his family and the devotees undertook to
look after the welfare of the resident
monks as is customary during the Vas
Retreat.
HE Justice Nihal
Jayasinghe, High Commissioner of Sri
Lanka, Dr and Mrs Ananda Guruge and Mr
Chandra Monerawela, Trustee on behalf of
the devotees, joined the Gunaratna
family in extending the Vas invitation.
Mr and Mrs Gunaratne
and family were dedicating this
meritorious deed to their infant
daughter who prematurely departed this
world last year after a short illness. |
