Protest
against the UN Secretary
General in front of the UNO head
quarters in Geneva

The Sri Lankans living in
Switzerland, Germany, France, and Italy
made their protest well noted against
the UN Secretary General Mr. Ban
Ki_moons ‘expert advisory panel’ on Sri
Lanka. They
carried out a massive demonstration in
front of the UNO head quarters in
Geneva..
According to the eye
witnesses this was a very successful
protest. At the end of the protest a
petition was handed over to the UNO
demanding abolition of the panel.
Sri Lankan Expatriates in
Europe for Defending the Sovereignty of
Sri Lanka is a new solidarity group
originating from France,
Italy, Switzerland and Germany. It
comprises of supports from the Jathika
Nidhahas Peramuna (JNP), Patriotic
National Front (PNM), SLFP, various
other non political party groups who are
active in defending mother Lanka.
Even though certain
reactionary elements went all the way
out to sabotage the demonstration, the
organizers say it was a big success. |
