Members of
the Sri Lanka Janahanda
Foundation were invited by
Feltham and Heston MP Hon. Allan
Keen (Labour) for a special
function held at Collections
Knightsbridge, London recently.
This high profile event was
hosted by Hon. Allan Keen MP and
his wife Anne Keen MP (Labour)
for their well wishers and
supporters. It was graced by Mrs
Sarah Brown, wife of British
Prime Minister, and British
Foreign Secretary David
Milliband.
Sri Lanka
Janahanda Foundation was formed
in Hounslow, Middlesex where a
large Sri Lankan community is
based. During the last five
years it has organised many
community‑based social, cultural
and charity events and those
activities were well appreciated
by local politicians including
the Hon. Allan Keen MP.
Janahanda foundation also works
for the community, regardless of
their ethnicity or religion and
develops unity and harmony among
them. This is one of the main
reasons why many local
politicians have offered a
helping hand towards Janahanda
Foundation to achieve its
community building goals.
Foreign
Secretary David Milliband and
Hon. Allan Keen MP discussed
several matters related to Sri
Lanka during their brief meeting
and promised to liaise with
Janahanda Foundation in the
future.
Many
politicians, councilors,
businessmen, government
officials and a large number of
distinguished guests were
present at the occasion. Also
present were Janahanda
foundation President Sri Lal
Dias and committee members
Shiran and Manoja Almeda, Gamini
