Religious observances by the President and the UPFA candidates in Anuradhapura - 27th-28th February 2010

President Mahinda Rajapaksa participating in religious observances at the Jayasri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura with UPFA candidates for the April 8 general election. All candidates from the UPFA took part in religious activities according to their faith before taking the pledge for a free and fair election. Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka, Senior Presidential Advisor Basil Rajapaksa, SLFP General Secretary Minister Maithripala Sirisena, former Speaker W.J.M. Lokubandara and Ministers Dr. Sarath Amunugama and Nimal Siripala de Silva were also present.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

District leaders and other representatives from 17 districts from the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) signed nominations for the upcoming General Election before President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat. 

For Galle District Piyasena Gamage, Gunaratna Weerakoon. For Kalutara District Kumara welgama, Rohitha Abegunawardana. For Anuradhapura District Tissa Karaliyaddha, S. M. Chandrasena. For Polonnaruwa District Maithripala Sirisena, Siripala Gamlath. For Monaragala District Sumedha Jayasena, Jagath Pushpakumara. For Badulla District Nimal Siripala De Silva, Dilan Perera. For Kandy Sarath Amunugama, Mahindananda Aluthgamage.  For Nuwara Eliya District C.B. Rathnayaka, Arumugan Thondaman. For Colombo District Susil Premachandra, A.H.M Fauzi. For Puthalam District Milroy Fernando, Priyankara Jayaratna. For Rathnapura District W.D.J Senevirathne, Pavithra Wanniarachchi. For Kurunegala  District S.B Nawinna. For Matale District Janaka Bandara Tennakoon, Rohana Kumara Dissanayake.
