Sri Lanka Janahanda
Foundation-UK on Saturday night (10th October) provided an
excellent opportunity for the British parliamentarians, Sri
Lanka High Commission representatives in London, Hounslow
Borough Councilors and local Sri Lankan and British crowd to
get relax from another busy week end enjoying a multi
cultural and musical extravaganza in a serene atmosphere.

Commissioner in London Justice Nihal Jayasinghe, Rt Hon Des
Browne MP (Kilmarnock & Loudoun) and the leader of the cross
party delegation , Cllr Jadish Sharma, Leader of the
Opposition, Mr P.M. Amza, Deputy High Commissioner, members
of the Hounslow Borough Council and many other dignitaries
participated the event as chief guests. The Feltham assembly
Hall, Feltham, Hounslow, Middlesex, which holds about
500-600 was overflowing with an eclectic crowd and
thundering house music provided by Sky High, popular Sri
Lankan musical band. Asanga Priyamantha Peiris, popular
young Sri Lankan singer and local singers entertained the
crowd.
The young British Sri
Lankan talents who performed at the multi cultural show
entertained the audience thoroughly including the chief
guests. Over seven different dance groups dressed in
distinctly different traditional attire come together to
perform their respective dances and songs in front of
roaring audience. Our talented young artists were decorated
with flowers, metal and embellished with stones, showed
their charming performance which the audience termed as
“fabulous”, “exquisite” and “astonishing”. “It was a
spectacular show” said Hon Des Browne MP.

Commissioner Justice Nihal Jayasinghe, Hon Des Browne MP,
Cllr Jagdish Sharma and Mr Mike Cook, MD Fast Cash,
representing all the co- sponsors and on be half of the
Janahanda Foundation President Sri Lal Dias, joint
secretaries M. Marzook and my self addressed the gathering.
Asiri Bandara and Shiran Almeida (Vice President of
Janahanda) compered the show and Chanaka Dissanayake
supported them. |
