The Beruwela Fishery Harbour which suffered sever damage in the tsunami of 2004, has now been reconstructed as a modern well-equipped facility with support from the People's Republic of China and was ceremonially opened by His Excellency President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Ge Chuan You has assured Sri Lanka of the continued development support from his country.
