The main Ranaviru Day Commemorative Ceremony in
United Kingdom was held at the Sri Sadhathissa
International Buddhist Centre (Kingsbury Vihara)
on 7th June 2008. The program was began by
lighting oil lamps for remembering the brave
young solders who scarified their lives to
provid a better future in our mother land.
The chief incumbent Ven Galayaye Piyadassi Thero
delivered a valuable 'Anusasana' which was
really appreciated by all. He emphasised the
importance of helping to mother country in this
very significant period of time and asked to
contribute towards the welfare of the
brave solders who are fighting in the battle
front line. There are many distinguish guests
attended the event including Mr Sudantha
Ganegama Arachchi -The Deputy High Commissioner
for Sri Lanka in London, Brigadier Prasad
Samarasinghe - The Defence Advisor at Sri Lankan
High Commission in London.
