Ethera Api UK Branch hosted Sri Lankan Day 2018 at Alperton Community School, in London, presenting an array of Sri Lankan cultural items - from Tamil Bharatanatyam dances to Sinhala and Muslim bridal shows.

In attendance were the Mayor of Brent, the mayor of Harrow and Representative from Sri Lanka High commission, religious leaders,Community representatives, intellectuals.

It was an opportunity to not only celebrate the diversity of Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim culture but to unify the communities of such people, living abroad. Sri Lankan Day 2018 is the first event of its kind, enabling the different communities to integrate and enjoy one other’s company, all under the same roof. The event started with a range of stalls which offered information and entertainment, such as healthcare aid and testing provided by Sri Lankan doctors and nurses working in the NHS to legal immigration advice from a Sri Lankan-run law firm based in the UK. There were also many activities available for children, like a magical sweet and toy stall.

This was followed by an evening full of stage performances, presenting Tamil, Sinhala and Muslim songs and dances.
