The new Sri Lanka High Commissioner in Great Britain, former High Court Judge Mr. Nihal Jayasinghe met the President Mahinda Rajapaksa at temple trees.
Justice Jayasinghe who served in the legal profession for 33 years joined the Attorney General’s Department in l971. He was appointed a Judge to the Court of Appeal in 1997 when he was serving as Deputy Solicitor General. Later he was appointed Chairman of the Appeal Court and then a Supreme Court Judge in 2002.
He was appointed a Judge of the International War Crimes Court established by the UN Secretary General and is presently serving as a Judge in the International War Crimes Court investigating war crimes committed by Pol Pot in Cambodia.
